Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is AvoPolisher?
A writing tool built for ASL users. Paste writing influenced by ASL — topic-first sentences, dropped articles, rhetorical questions — and get back natural written English. It keeps your voice; it just makes the English read right.
How is this different from Grammarly?
Grammarly treats ASL grammar like broken English and "fixes" it as mistakes. AvoPolisher understands ASL as its own complete language system, so it carries your meaning into natural English instead of flagging how you think as wrong.
Who makes AvoPolisher?
It's built by AvocadoWeb Services LLC — deaf-built AI tools.
Using AvoPolisher
Where can I use it?
Anywhere written English matters: job applications, schoolwork, business emails, government forms, or texting hearing coworkers.
Do I need an account?
No. Guests get 5 free polishes a day with no account. A free account gets its own 10 a day tied to the account, so your limit follows you on any device or network. Signing up is free.
What do casual and formal modes do?
Casual sounds like a text to a friend — contractions are fine. Formal is polished and professional: no slang, no contractions. Pick your mode before you polish.
What does "show me what changed" do?
It lists the edits the polisher made to your text, so you can see what changed and learn the pattern for next time.
Plans & billing
How do Pro and Premium work?
Pro ($9/mo) and Premium ($19/mo) are coming soon — they open after the beta. Right now everything runs on the free plans: guests get 5 polishes/day, free accounts get 10/day. Sign up today and your account, quota, and history carry straight into a paid plan when it opens.
What counts as one polish?
Each time you press the polish button, that's one — up to 500 characters as a guest, 1,000 with a free account, 2,000 on Pro, or 5,000 on Premium. The plan check before sending doesn't count.
When does my daily quota reset?
Every day at midnight. Unused polishes don't roll over — use them or lose them.
Why do guests get fewer polishes than free accounts?
Guests are tracked by network address, which is easy to abuse and easy to lose (your count resets if your address changes). An account is verifiable, so it earns a higher limit that follows you everywhere.
Can I cancel a paid plan?
Anytime, in one click from your settings. You keep paid access until the end of the billing month, then drop to the free plan — nothing is deleted.
Privacy
Is my writing stored anywhere?
Guests: nothing is stored — your text goes to the AI for polishing and only the daily quota count is kept. Free accounts: your conversations are saved for 30 days, then automatically deleted. Pro and Premium: conversations and polish history are kept while your account is active. You can delete individual chats from the sidebar and clear polish history anytime in Settings → History.
